ABOUT PUERTO GALERA

Puerto Galera BayPuerto Galera, on the northern tip of Mindoro Island, is known as one of the most beautiful natural harbours in the world. The Spanish long ago explored the "Port of the Galleons" for trade links with China and beyond. More recent visitors have been discovering the fine beaches, clear waters and friendly people. Dubbed the "Pearl of Mindoro", Puerto Galera is a beach resort town located on the north shore of Mindoro Island, 130 kilometers south of Manila. It comprises of 12 coastal districts and one mountain district over an area of 23,247 hectares, bordered on the north by Verde Island, on the south by Baco and Malasimbo mountains, on the northeast by the town of San Teodoro, and on the northwest by the Province of Occidental Mindoro. The terrain is rugged with sometimes dense jungle, an irregular coastline with crystal, clear water and wide sand beaches, a natural harbour and safe anchorage. It’s natural seawall, exciting dive sites, lush mountains and white pristine beaches make Puerto Galera one of the Philippine's top tourist destinations.

WHAT'S ON AROUND PUERTO GALERA & SABANG

Sabang Beach, Small La Laguna Beach and Big La Laguna Beach are all within a 5 to 10 minute walk. Here you have a choice of restaurants, bars and nightlife on offer. Shop for your souvenirs in the market streets, or take a walk to some breathtaking viewpoints overlooking the bays and islands, by local trails. It’s only a short taxi boat ride to fantastic white sandy beaches - no shops, just sand, palms, and natural beauty.

The best pizza and pasta is a boat ride away at Talipanan Beach.

At White Beach you can have fun with water sports, or relax at the beach, with plenty of beachside restaurants to eat at.

Visit the snake and reptile park just a short jeepney ride from Sabang.
